Now Up For A Trade: Item T33_1
I got this item from John, in Trade 33.
This is a watch, as worn by a bicycle racing world champion when he became world champion:
Jeff Wherlock was wearing this watch when he won the bicycling Singlespeed World Championship in 2001. (Alison Rushton was the ladies champion, I should mention!).
According to Wikipedia, there were also titles, determined by the crowd's cheering at the award event, awarded for:
- fattest racer
- skinniest racer
- best seen crash
- most vomitings in the race
- person most in need of a new frame
- best male legs (decided by the top ten women)
- pimpiest bike
- most hungover
With so many titles, this was clearly a race of enormous importance.
If you are a cyclist, I think this watch could well help you go faster, though I'm not including a guarantee on this point.

So they must have sent a guy out swimming till he was 50m from the shore, I guess. Too bad he was apparently without his snorkel gear.
